Petra Bistričić
Petra Bistričić is a Policy and Research Associate at the Carbon Balance Initiative. Petra leads research on policy mechanisms for temporary climate overshoot reversal, with a specific focus on compliance-based mechanisms for overshoot responsibility. She also analyses emission reduction and carbon dioxide removal (CDR) policy mechanisms and their integration within existing and future regulatory frameworks. Her work is contextualised within the policy architecture of the EU. Petra is also a DPhil (PhD) candidate at the University of Oxford, where she uses modelling insights on climate policies’ economic and climate impacts alongside insights on the political feasibility to develop policy fit for the climate challenges ahead. Petra holds an MSc in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford and a BA in Social and Political Science from the University of York.
She is happiest when reading poetry or winding her way through an exhibition on Secession art.
