Open Letter on Storage Conditions for Rosebank and Jackdaw
This open letter addresses the licensing conditions for the Rosebank and Jackdaw oil and gas fields, currently under consideration by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. The letter does not address or endorse consent for Rosebank and Jackdaw but rather outlines the conditions that must be attached to any such development if it is to be reconciled with the United Kingdom's target to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
The letter was sent to Secretary of State, Rt Miatta Fahnbulleh, on Tuesday 25 August, 2026 on behalf of 160 members of academia, civil society, and other environmental professionals.
